Ulrich Seidl Retrospective
With the presence of the director
Ulrich Seidl is one of the most original and provocative filmmakers in contemporary cinema. With a body of work that explores the human condition with a sincerity that challenges the conventions of morality, and with universes populated by characters in a situation of social ostracism that form the B-side of progressive and enlightened Europe; Seidl has been selected and awarded at festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, San Sebastián, or Venice.
The filmmaker presents three works, two of them initiatory, that will serve as a starting point to reflect on the formal and thematic evolution of his career: the shooting methodology, the synergies between documentary and fiction, the work with actors, or the mixture between comedy and tragedy.
Einsverzeig (1980)
Der Ball (1982)
Brüder, lasst uns lustig sein (2006)
El cineasta vindrà presencialment al festival per presentar les seves obres i per debatre en un col·loqui obert amb el públic assistent.
