Pictures at an Exhibition
Amb la presència d'Ulrich Seidl i Carlos Losilla
Ulrich Seidl is one of the most original and provocative filmmakers in contemporary cinema. With a body of work that explores the human condition with a sincerity that challenges the conventions of morality, and with universes populated by characters in situations of social ostracism that form the B-side of progressive and enlightened Europe; Seidl has been selected and awarded at festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, San Sebastián, or Venice.
In this session, the television film Pictures at an Exhibition is screened in which Ulrich Seidl invites visitors and experts to talk about modern art. Their dreams, their visions, and the fears that lead them to touch on themes like sexuality and death. During the filming process, Seidl discovered protagonists for later films such as Erich Finsches and René Rupnik. Furthermore, it was his first collaboration with Veronika Franz, who would later become co-writer and artistic collaborator of Seidl.
Moderated post-discussion with film critic and writer Carlos Losilla, author of the book In Search of Ulrich Seidl. The question-and-answer session will follow with accredited journalists and the public.
