Meritxell Colell Retrospective
With the presence of the director
Meritxell Colell Aparicio, a graduate in audiovisual communication from UPF, is a director and editor. With the Wind, her first film, was selected for the Atelier of the Cinéfondation at the Cannes Film Festival 2015 and had its world premiere at the 68th Berlinale. Duo, her latest, has received the Biznaga de Plata for best directing in the Zonazine section of the Málaga festival. Colell combines directing with teaching and participates in the Cinema en Curs pedagogy program.
The retrospective is a journey through the different stages of her career. From Manuscript in the City (2006), a film diary of her stay in Buenos Aires, to Oceanic Feeling (2021), an audiovisual investigation made in collaboration with sound artist Angélica Castelló. On the occasion of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the A bao a qu association, one of the short films she has mentored through cinema in course is being screened: Behind the MACBA. Portrait of a Museum (2015-16).

El col·loqui posterior a la projecció està a càrrec de Laia Colell, cofundadora d'A bao a qu i investigadora d'humanitats, i Palmira Sabaté, que forma part de l’equip d’A Bao A Qu des de 2023 i participant de Cinema en curs el 2015-2016 en el taller acompanyat per Meritxell Colell.
